In 2009, when Jocelyn Eikenburg started her blog, she said that she “felt alone in being married to a Chinese man and … wanted to find other people to connect with.” Now, five years later, interracial marriage in China is still rare, but Jocelyn’s blog, Speaking of China, a blog about love, family and relationships in China, has gained a large following.
If you visit her blog, here are a few of the topics you’ll find discussed:
“On the Rarity of Foreign Women and Chinese Boyfriends/Chinese Husbands”
“Ask the Yangxifu: Sex and Chinese Men”
“The Troubling Chinese Mother-in-law Relationship.”
Today, I’m happy to report, you will also find her “Interview with Nicki Chen.” Since Jocelyn and her husband, Jun, live in Hangzhou, China, and I’m over here in Edmonds, WA, we had to conduct the interview by email.
I hope you’ll click on over to Speaking of China and take a look. And while you’re at it, check out the site and some of Jocelyn’s posts.
I’ll swing by right now.
Thank you so much for posting about the interview — and introducing my site as well! I really appreciate it.
I also hope your lovely novel does well. You’re such a talented writer.
